Thermal management is important for the engine. On the one hand, temperature allows the engine to achieve the proper operating parameters, performance, and optimal fuel consumption. On the other hand, excess heat may affect the washers, the head, the engine block, or its elements. The basic component allowing controlling the engine temperature is the radiator.
Its role is quite simple. It is one of the elements of the cooling system, into which the coolant is entered as soon as its temperature increases above the level predetermined by the vehicle manufacturer. When passing through the radiator and its fins, the coolant dissipates excess heat into the atmosphere. This process is supported by the wind engulfing the front of the car, and the fan mounted behind the radiator.

Engine radiator types
Engine radiators can be divided into four groups. When it comes to the material they are made of, we distinguish mainly between fully aluminum radiators or radiators with an aluminum core and a plastic tank. Radiators also differ in terms of their design. Here we can distinguish between radiators whose components are put together by means of soldering, and welding mechanically.
The soldered ones are more durable, more rigid, and have a bigger area through which heat is dissipated. The main advantage of radiators put together mechanically is their low price. Unfortunately, they are known to leak as a result of engine vibrations.
