The strength of the blower in the ventilation system depends largely on the settings selected by the driver by means of the regulator located on the control panel. It is nothing more than a common resistor. Thus, the motor driving the blower is controlled by means of adjusting the amount of the current flowing in the system. The resistor limits or increases it, depending on the impulse received from the controller.
The blower control elements play an important role. If they’re damaged, the blower installed in the car’s ventilation system may have trouble setting the correct operating force, causing the fan to run too fast or too slow. In extreme cases, the current flowing to the blower motor will be cut off. As a result, the ventilation system will stop heating or cooling the cabin.
